(More customer reviews)I was looking for waterproof winter boots since it was snowing a lot from early this winter, and I knew we must be in for a long one. I decided it was finally time to invest in a pair of waterproof boots (all my winter boots were suede). I looked at different kinds of boots and decided I didn't want to spend too much, since the more expensive kinds (like Sorel), weren't as well made as they once were. Tretorn vinter boots fit the bill. Basically, they're just really warm rain boots, which ended up perfect for my needs.
I love the faux fur lining, it's surprisingly warm and makes the fit really snug and comfortable. They're actually more comfortable and fit better than my rain boots because of the extra lining.
If you are afraid these are too heavy or constraining as I have heard from other reviewers, it's no heavier or constraining than regular rain boots (or wellingtons). If you don't like wearing wellingtons, you may not like wearing these either.
They also look super cute and I think cuter than regular rain boots. So far, I have easily trudged through snow and slush. I love that these boots provide water protection beyond the ankle too. These have definitely saved me this winter. While I can't say you will be able to walk on ice in these, the grip on the bottom is quite good.
Also, for those complaining that their boots cracked... they are made of rubber which is only so pliable, so you have mind how much you bend them. Furthermore, if you are in an environment where there is a lot of salt spreading, you should definitely wash the surface of these boots according to the directions and probably use the silicon oil or glycerin as a protective coating. The salt is VERY corrosive.
