(More customer reviews)I so love this heartbreaking and quirky book. It is touching and brave and sometimes laugh out loud funny. I love Adie's voice and the way she looks at her odd and sometimes frightening world. Adie is a young girl (and an unusually small one) suddenly flung into the big world and has to find a way to live in it. There are so many wonderful insightful observations, for instance, this one, picked at random, about Adie's feeling about Disneyland: "I thought the Disney characters walking around the park were creepy, and I tried to get away every time they came near us. Why was everyone shaking hands with them and pretending they didn't know there were real people inside?" I love when a writer makes you think, "Yeah, that's it, that's exactly it," and Schlossberg does just that. Adie's journey is not one you've read before and you will not stop thinking about this little family after you've closed the book.A truly memorable read.
